I scream, you scream, we all scream for…..PIZZA. 🙂
As summer winds down, many people are enjoying athe last long weekend of the season with Labor Day cookouts and parties. Whether you are hosting a cookout, or attending a party, everybody tends to get excited about dessert. Why not serve a simple, elegant and inexpensive fruit pizza? This recipe comes from our friends at Pillsbury – I’ve seen many variations of this recipe and it’s always been a hit at any event I’ve taken it to.
The recipe serves 10-12 depending on the size of the slices, and I estimated the cost of ingredients at less than $15, so the cost per serving clocks in at $1.25-$1.50 per person. Not bad for a delicious and fun dessert.
Easy Fruit Pizza

Ingredients
- 1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated sugar cookies
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 kiwifruit, peeled, halved lengthwise and sliced (or substitute another fruit of your choice)
- 1 cup halved or quartered fresh strawberries (or substitute another fruit of your choice)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (or substitute another fruit of your choice)
- 1/2 cup apple jelly
Steps
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray. Press dough evenly in bottom of pan to form crust. Bake 16 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Spread mixture over cooled crust. Arrange fruit over cream cheese. Stir jelly until smooth; spoon or brush over fruit. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour. To serve, cut into wedges or squares. Cover and refrigerate any remaining pizza.
